Angela Tancredi, born in Chianciano Terme (SI), is a singer, author and performer, founding voice
of the Cantonuovo project.
His artistic and spiritual journey has been marked by a profound transformation that has
taken his singing from artistic expression to a true form of prayer and service.
Angela’s musical activity began in 1983. Since the 1990s she has had
an intense career as a solo singer, performing in Italy in prominent settings and festivals,
including the Porretta Soul Festival and Torrita Blues, as well as in various live clubs.
During this time he sang in funk and soul ensembles of varying sizes, from duo to
numerous bands, gaining solid vocal and interpretive experience always in the role of
soloist.
The decisive step came on November 12, 2000, when he received the baptism in the
Holy Spirit, following his personal conversion to Jesus.
From that moment Angela chose to devote her singing exclusively to praise and
worship, directing her entire artistic and spiritual life to this service.
In the same year, together with Fabrizio Tiezzi and Maurizio Tiezzi, he founded
Cantonuovo in Siena, a reality of prayer, praise and spiritual formation that over time has developed
as an international community, active in Italy and Slovakia.
Since 2001, he has had an ongoing ministry as a singer and soloist in concerts, schools on the
Kingdom of God, conferences, seminars and thematic workshops, including internationally.
In 2009 she co-founded Cantonuovo ETS Foundation, a nonprofit
third sector entity, within which she is also involved as a member of the Board of
Directors.
Angela is the lead vocalist on all Cantonuovo’s record productions and is
coauthor of many of the songs released.
She participated as performer and songwriter on the albums Splendido (2006), God of Hope (2007),
Salmo Nuovo 2010 (2010), New Psalm 2010 (2011), Reset (2012), Respiro Live (2015) and
CantoNuovo (2019).
In 2025, Essential was published, a work for praise that represents a point of maturity
and synthesis of Cantonuovo’s musical and spiritual journey.
In this work, Angela is solo voice and coauthor, contributing greatly to a
language of essential and profound praise, in which the voice becomes dwelling, invocation and space
of listening, rather than musical performance.
His ministry is characterized by an intense and authentic vocal presence, capable of combining
strength and delicacy, power and intimacy, in the service of praise lived as a real and
transforming experience.
