A new life within me
The author and owner of this life is called JESUS
From my early teens, my life was enslaved by various addictions: drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling. At the age of 25, I entered a deep existential crisis; I thought life was no longer worth living. I was helped by a doctor who, after examining me, told me I was in good health, but had fallen into a state of anxiety and inner turmoil. She advised me to take a holiday. I returned from this period of rest, motivated to carry on. I decided to give up drugs, alcohol and gambling, but other addictions continued to control my life.
At the age of 37, I met my wife, with whom I have had wonderful children. My life seemed to have gained new vigour with my family, but I felt that the torments of the past would not let me go, and I sank into a crisis worse than the first. I cried out to God: “If you really exist, help me!!!”
Time passed and my despair grew. But one day, on YouTube, I saw a video of a man talking about how to call upon God and about His faithfulness. I decided to get to know this person. I got in the car and drove to Siena, went to the headquarters of the Cantonuovo Foundation, and was welcomed by several people. I felt hope kindle in my heart. They asked me if they could pray for me. I agreed!
I was surrounded by the love of so many people. They prayed in the name of the Lord that every illness might be healed. They asked the Lord to fill me with His Spirit. I immediately felt a great peace and felt as though I were wrapped in a shield. We said our goodbyes and I returned to the hotel. Shortly after midnight, I lay down on the bed, raised my hands to the sky and said: “Thank you, Lord!” I felt a supernatural strength enter my body, enveloping my whole being. I felt His forgiveness and His great love.
Since January 2014, there has been a new life within me.
